4 Key SEO Tips to Improve Your SERP Results

Improving your SERP results is a very effective way to attract more visitors to your site. This increase in traffic is a direct result of the increased visibility that comes with a higher ranking on the SERPs (search engine results pages).

Well, there are many ways to improve search results and increase the number of visitors to your website, but most require a lot of time and research.

However, if you talk to any SEO company in London, they will tell you a few simple SEO tools can help you greatly with all time-consuming tasks while increasing your overall SERPs.

The following four tips will help you increase your visibility on SERPs:

1. Use original images

Original images are always good when it comes to SEO. There are two reasons for this:

First, the images you use must be related to your content to get the most out of them. If they are not, search engines will pay less attention to your website and will not benefit from using the original images.

Second, try using keywords in the names of your images. Search engines will take them into account, and you will get a higher ranking if they match popular SERP queries.

You will need to have the original tags in the images associated with your site. The best way to do this is to insert alt tags and place a keyword there so Google can easily see what’s in the image.

For example, for an Instagram post with a picture of my new dress, the alt would be, “New spring dresses!” It would appear when someone searches for that term.

2. Use long keywords

Long keywords are a great way to increase search results. These are very specific and relevant phrases that describe exactly what you are trying to target. Here is an example:

Let’s say we’re selling a new iPhone 7 and we want to improve our visibility on Google. One of our keywords is “price of iPhone 7”. This keyword seems simple enough, but we know we’re not getting the results we need with this long tail keyword. Our competition for this keyword has more traffic than us, and it doesn’t make sense given how easy it is to target keywords like this.

Instead of using “iPhone 7 Price”, we change the keyword to “Cheapest iPhone 7 offers online”. Now our competition continues to drive traffic for this keyword, but according to Google Trends, “Cheapest iPhone 7 Deals Online” has a higher search volume than the first keyword.

This means we are more likely to get results with this new long-tailed keyword. We are ranked better on SERPs because our competition doesn’t get as much traffic for this keyword, and we are able to catch everyone!

3. Quality content

Quality content has always been important to SEO, but in recent years the importance has grown. If you want to find yourself in Google’s EDU SERPs, then this becomes an even greater need. There are many ways to improve your content – such as providing unique information with great references.

This is extremely important because if Google can’t understand what your content is saying, it won’t rank you high! Therefore, when writing blog posts or articles, always try to mix long keywords and your main keyword through the content. This way, Google will see that your post is relevant to what you’re trying to rank for.

For example, when writing an article about creating a social media calendar, keywords like “social media content calendar” and phrases like “how to make a social media calendar” would be ideal.

4. Hang out

The last step is to share your articles on social media! This way, the general public will know what it is about, and people who are unfamiliar with you can learn more. Start by creating a Twitter page for your business and use a tool like Hootsuite to schedule social media posts in advance so you don’t have to tweet all day.

Social networks are all about sharing, so use that to your advantage. Submit your blog posts and share your content on Facebook.

Here are some tips for the bonus:

5. Build feedback

This is something that bloggers can do to increase their search engine rankings, which does not take too much time, but requires some research. Many sites such as Moz and Open Site Explorer allow you to see who is connecting with your competitors and how they are doing it.

If you find that a competitor has a link from another website, check the page and see if there is a way to get them to come back to you. If you can’t, find many websites from which your competitor doesn’t get links and get to them. This is a great way to build backlinks without the need for a lot of work.

6. Optimize your internal connections

An optimized website is a very effective way to increase your SERPs. You need to make sure your site is fully optimized with the main keywords you want to rank for, and you also need to target secondary keywords. Each page of your site should target at least two keywords, and you need to make sure that the anchor text is relevant to your internal links.

A great way to make sure your website is properly optimized is to use Screaming Frog. This will tell you exactly how many pages lead to any URL on your site, which links are most effective at driving traffic to them, and how many of your internal links have actually been clicked on.

You can also use this tool to find out if any of your URLs are corrupt. Or if there are some non-optimized pages on your website to look out for.

If you follow the four steps above, you’ll see an improvement in Google’s ranking. But don’t forget, it’s a long and complex process, and working with a consistent strategy that is flexible according to changing algorithms within Google is the best way to see tangible results, increased visibility, and improved conversions!
