Legendary American actor and comedian Bill Murray this month he is launching a new Ethereum-based NFT project that will heavily involve stories from and about his life.

According to Art interview by Decrypt with Murray’s son Jackson, the famous actor wants to share many stories from his entertainment career in the form of an NFT project. The report claims that the project, dubbed “The Bill Murray 1,000,” was launched as a collaboration between the website “The Chive” and the launch of blockchain Project Venkman.

The project will offer 1,000 NFT collectibles based on 100 stories from Murray’s career, including his films and Saturday Night Live career. The report claims that each NFT will be based on an original Murray painting by artist David Grizzle with a unique background. Jackson Murray told Decrypt that his father became interested in the NFT project after speaking with The Chive co-founder and president John Resig. Resig called the next period of Murray’s evolution “definitely NFT,” which the actor was initially displeased with. However, Jackson says his father eventually came up with the idea to start the NFT collection and was very aware of the potential of digital objects.

Jackson said his father had the idea to create a membership pass that would give collectors incentives, including access to future in-person events to meet the famous actor. The NFT collection would also provide an opportunity for Murray to share his true stories with the world.

jackson said,

I keep getting asked, ‘Is this story real? Is this a real thing that happened? [The NFTs are] vehicle for me and then [Bill] also, I’m sure, to answer those questions without having to repeat the same story nine times in a row.
