Decred blockchain presents a new cross-chain wallet, SPV: GoDCR »CryptoNinjas

Decred (DCR), a blockchain-based cryptocurrency with a strong focus on community contribution, today announced the launch of GoDCR, a multi-platform GUI wallet made using Golang and Gio.

GoDCR has a simplified payment verification (SPV) that preserves privacy, which is an improved privacy feature not typically available in easy wallets. The Privacy SPV does not share personal transaction information with other nodes, significantly increasing user privacy.

Users also have access to StakeShuffle, Decred’s privacy system that allows post-quantum secure mixing. This feature provides powerful protection of mixed coin privacy from quantum computers.

Running on a smaller footprint, GoDCR is available on operating systems that do not support Electron, especially on BSDs. In addition to advanced privacy features, the wallet also has a ticket for ticket buyers; voting on the proposal; consensus rule voting agenda; basic wallet operations and message verification.

“Our goal is to improve the usability and availability of Decred for people around the planet. Our next focus is running GoDCR on mobile devices. This will allow us to consolidate four different projects (dcrios, dcrandroid, dcrlibwallet, godcr), into one UI design and repo code. ”
– Steven Wagner, senior associate at Decred

Future versions of GoDCR will include DCRDEX with bitcoin wallet, as well as improved returns (hex) and further user interface improvements.

GoDCR is the latest in a series of Decred developments. Earlier this month, the project switched to a majority share model and made a series of updates to DCRDEX, its decentralized exchange.
