Now the San Diego-based startup Roswell Biotechnologies hopes to give molecular electronics a second life. Instead of targeting computer circuits, Roswell wants to integrate individual molecules into electronic circuits of biosensors, an approach he hopes will soon provide a cheap and convenient way to detect viruses, collect environmental toxins and assess the effects of pharmaceuticals in real time. .
