Regal, a subsidiary of the Cineworld Group and operator of one of the largest and most geographically diverse theater circles in the United States, announced today that it has partnered with Flex, and crypto payment network, offer users the ability to pay with cryptocurrencies.
Now, on its entire footprint of nearly 7,000 screens in more than 500 cinemas, Regal helps customers easily pay for movie tickets, popcorn and more using a wide range of cryptocurrencies – from bitcoin and ether to dogecoin and Daia.
Through its partnership with Flex, Regal enables payments using dozens of cryptocurrencies such as:
- Cryptocurrencies including bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), litecoin (LTC), and dogecoin (DOGE);
- Digital dollars and stable coins including USD Coin (USDC), DAI (DAI) and Gemini Dollar (GUSD); i
- Tokens including LINK, ATOM, basic attention token (BAT), plus more.
Flexa is working to help Regal facilitate the acceptance of a variety of assets, through many different protocols (including the Lightning Network). Also in preparation, when paying at Regal using apps that support Flex, guests will soon have the option to link their Regal Crown Club loyalty account for special rewards.
