YouTube sees irreplaceable tokens (NFT) as a stepping stone to a stronger link between creator and viewer, according to product director Neal Mohan.
Through YouTube’s official blog, Mohan delves deeper into this year’s new features, tools and products for viewers, partners and creators. He pointed out that new technologies such as blockchain and NFT have incredible potential for a revolution in space.
Late last month, YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki announced that video and social media giant is considering adding NFT features for video creators.
Therefore, Mohan’s discovery suggests that NFT’s plans are at top speed as they could enable creators and viewers to make money in ways not previously seen by collaborating on new projects.
Authentication is careful in sharing videos, and YouTube sees NFT as a game change. Mohan explained:
“Providing a verifiable way for fans to own unique videos, photos, art, and even the experiences of their favorite creators could be a compelling perspective for creators and their audiences.”
YouTube has introduced various innovations to its platform, and NFTs seem to be in its game plan. For example, the content of the short form called YouTube Shorts has grown fivefold, as it has been received with astonishing volume and speed.
With NFT values of intrinsic value and unique features based on blockchain technology, their adoption continues to go through the roof. For example, other social giants like Reddit and Twitter have shown interest in the sector, and the latter recently announcing verification mechanism for NFT avatars.
Proof of ownership is another factor making Irreplaceable tokens are growing. A global and multidisciplinary team of scientists recently opinions that NFTs could be repurposed to fit into the healthcare industry, helping patients protect their personal health information.
